A couple posts ago, I mentioned my fifth grade arch-nemesis, Ms. G. Here’s an animatic I created for a college assignment. We had to create an animatic with 30 drawings (a minute per drawing). This interaction between Ms. G and I was not as positive. I think this was the only confrontation I've had in my life. If the ghost of Ms. G is listening, please cover your ears. Also, her name has been changed to protect her identity. Note: The audio is low, so be sure to turn up the volume.

Childhood memory
When I was in fifth grade I had a witch of a teacher named Mrs. G (god rest her soul). She and I were like dish soap and oil. In fact, I bet she downright hated me.
One day we had a science project to illustrate the classifications of living organisms. I probably complained a lot, but I finally gave in. I passed in the image at the end of science class. Without knowing it, I created one of my most memorable works of art. The day ended just like any other…I left school and headed home for the Disney Afternoon.
The next morning, I returned to school and my illustration was the only one hanging on the bulletin board! Mrs. G told everyone about my work and commended me in front of the whole class. For a second, I finally thought I had defeated the old shrew. It was the first time in my life that I thought of myself as an artist. Although Mrs. G continued to make my life a living hell that year, she is responsible for my first positive art experience.

The Terrrific Trampolini Brothers
Today at work we finally delivered the Trampolini Brothers for the kids show, Between the Lions! The Trampolini Brothers teach children about comparative adjectives (brave, braver, bravest). The final animation was produced by Soup 2 Nuts animation studio. I created the characters as well as art-directed the project. Below is the same shot during the different stages of production:

Robot Karaoke
I have been collaborating with some friends on a fun one-week project. We came up with the concept of Robot Karaoke for some spec MTV interstitials. I co-directed the spot. We are currently working on the After Effects and compositing of the final spot. The piece should be done within a week or so. In the meantime here are some of the frames without the effects. Enjoy!

He He He He...
Since my new website is almost done, I've had some time to finally work on my first children's book. I have finished the text and even completed the page layouts. The next couple weeks will be spent coming up with the final illustration style (which will probably be a combination of digital and hand-drawn). Here is one of the first images I drew.

The new site design
As I mentioned in my last post, I have been hard at work on my new and improved website. I have been working with the amazingly talented Matt Moore. The site should be completed by the end of the month. Some of the new features include a video interview, free ipod video downloads, as well as a ton of new artwork. This isn't the most up-to-date design, but check it out!
