Busy doing other things...

I have been trying to write more often, but it’s hard to find the time. Between work, life, and drawing, it leaves little time to sit down and write. I have been forcing myself to do so, even if it takes time away from doodling. I recently picked up Stephen King’s On Writing (2nd time around), and I recommend it to anyone who seeks inspiration. In some ways the book is a fantastic blend of memoir and instructional manual. In other ways, he makes you feel that writing a decent novel is a divine act. I took a lot of what he said with a grain of salt. Then I took the plunge and started writing. During the last few weeks, I have been working on my first children’s chapter book. I hope to use simple illustrations throughout the book to help spark the imaginations of children. My writing informs my art and my drawings inform my writing. They go hand in hand. Here is a doodle I created while I was brainstorming...
